The region’s top pros have been out in force across the North East and North West with pro ams taking place around the region.
At the Maryport GC Pro Am, Northern Golfer tips pro John Harrison (Matfen Hall) returned to the winners’ circle with a round of 69 earning him a tie for first place with Simon Calvert (Darlington).
John’s form continued at Ramside, where he finished in second place – three shots behind Ryan Ingram (George Washington), who shot a superb eight under-par round of 64.
Three pros tied for the top prize in the Hadrian Healthcare Pro Am at Whickham Golf Club – Matthew Webb (Bedlingtonshire) shot 66 as did Simon Robinson (Sharpley) and David Clark (Morpeth). Andrew Scrimshaw (Close House) was two shots back with his round of 68.
Liam Sullivan (Saltburn) topped the leaderboard at the Middlesbrough GC Pro Am with a round of 66 to claim his first win as a professional. Meanwhile Darren Crowle (Crook) and Vince Guest (Teesside) shared second place with rounds of 67.
Craig Goodfellow (Carlisle Golf Centre) made the long trip from Cumbria worth it when he picked up the winner’s cheque at Teesside.
Meanwhile, Mark Ridley (South Moor) picked up the NE/NW PGA Championship title at Brancepeth, which you can read more about on pages 24-27. Hexham’s Jonathan Richardson was the leading PGA Assistant in the event.
