Westerhope-based professional George Cowan lifted the North East & North West PGA Matchplay Championship trophy for the first time with victory over Jonathan Graham in the event’s final.
On a delayed finals day, George made it to the final with victory over Craig Goodfellow on the first extra hole in the morning semi-finals, while Jonathan beat David Clark 1up.
In the final, George came through a close match to seal victory on the 18th green at Slaley Hall.
