Brancepeth Castle’s Richard Aisbitt won the Bishop Bowl for the sixth time with a playoff victory over City of Newcastle’s Andrew Minnikin at Bishop Auckland Golf Club.
In the playoff – which took place after both players shot 36-hole scores of three under-par – Richard shot 71 as Andrew posted a round of 75.
The win adds to a stellar year for Richard, who won the Durham County Order of Merit, and sees him tie Roger Roper with six wins in the Bishop Bowl.
