What are you doing this season?
“I qualified for the EuroPro Tour this season through the Q School at Frilford Heath so that is going to be a huge part of my season on the course. Close House and Longhirst will be my ‘home’ games, so I’d like to play well in those.

“I’ll also be playing a lot of NE/NW PGA pro ams and will look to qualify for the Open Championship later this summer. Apart from that, I’ll be working at Darlington, particularly with the juniors on a Saturday morning, and keeping my game sharp on our new driving range.”

How did you get into the game?
I started playing at Richmond Golf Club as a seven-year-old with my mum and dad. We all started at the same time and I got totally hooked as a young kid.

“I went on to play club golf and represent Teesside at boys’ and men’s level as well as representing Durham before I turned pro. The highlight of my amateur career was winning two Yorkshire Order of Merit events in 2010 – the Auchterlonie Spoon at Selby Golf Club and the Hornsea Gutty.”

What does the future hold?
“I’m really looking forward to a full schedule of EuroPro Tour events in 2016. The dream is to be a full-time player and make it to the European Tour; there’s a clear route through the EuroPro and Challenge tours to make it to the top tier. Apart from that, I just want to be as good a player as I possibly can be.”
