What have you been up to?

“I moved to Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club in January and it’s been a very busy start to the year. There’s a good buzz around the club and I’m looking forward to my first season here. We’ve just completed fitting out the new shop and there’s lots to get going on with our TrackMan launch monitor now available for fitting and coaching. We also have a new junior academy and ladies chip and sip group starting soon. It’s going to be a busy year, including opening up an indoor swing studio, but I’m really looking forward to it.”

How did you get into the game?

“I got into the game early thanks to my dad, a member of Barnard Castle Golf Club. I was hitting balls when I was four-years-old and by the time I was 13, golf was my only sport. I played for Durham as a junior and played in national events all over the country – from Faldo Series events to representing the North of England boys. I also played for the Durham men’s team before turning pro in 2011.”

What does the future hold?

There’s a lot to look forward to at Thirsk & Northallerton. I want to establish a leading coaching and fitting facility in the area, working with players of all ages and abilities to improve their golf. I also want to be part of attracting people into the game as it’s really important to introduce as many people as possible to the game we all love. As for my own golf, I’ll be playing as full a schedule as possible on the NE/NW PGA circuit along with a few Yorkshire PGA pro ams. There’s a lot going on and I’m excited to get into the season.”
