PGA professionals Martyn and Greg Jobling have joined Maconald Linden Hall as the resort’s director of golf and PGA professional respectively.
Martyn, who leaves Morpeth Golf Club to take up the position, is looking forward to developing the resort’s reputation as it hosts its first EuroPro Tour event in July. Meanwhile, Greg joins the resort from Sunderland Golf Centre.
Martyn said: “I’m really looking forward to welcoming people back to Linden Hall this summer, reminding golfers across the North East just how good the golf course and facilities are here.
“Leaving Morpeth was a hard decision but I was looking for the next step in my career and the opportunity to join Linden in this role was too good to miss out on. The EuroPro Tour in July is sure to be a huge highlight, while we’re hosting more than 25 opens in the next 12 months to get people back visiting and enjoying what is one of Northumberland’s best layouts.”
The EuroPro Tour, which offers the UK’s most talented young professionals a route to the Challenge Tour along with more than £850,000 in total prize money in 2019, will head to the Northumberland course July 3-5.
The 6846-yard Jonathan Gaunt design will also host the first stage of the tour’s Qualifying School in April.
