Japanese clubmaker VEGA has unveiled its Merak range of putters – featuring a standout golden finish which matches its Alcor wedge line.
Professional Golf Europe Ltd (PGE), owners of VEGA, has created six putters for the range (RRP £399), which forms part of the premium brand’s Star line.
The putters use the same one-piece forged aluminium brass material as the Alcor wedges, and are designed to deliver soft and consistent feel, with the finish designed to darken over time – rather than wear off. Each model features the Star line gold and silver engraving to the dual-mill face, and two interchangeable weights on the sole (5g, 10g or 15g).
The models in the range include: LB Centre Putter – a large anser-style body with centre shaft; LB Heel Putter – a large anser-style body with heel shaft; MM Centre Putter – a mid-size mallet with emphasised heel and toe weighting; MM Heel Putter – a mid-size mallet with emphasised heel and toe weighting; SM Centre Putter – a smaller mallet-style putter with centre shaft; and SM Heel Putter – a smaller mallet-style putter with heel shaft.
