Junior teams from Longhirst Hall and Wearside are heading to England Golf’s Junior Champion Club event later this season having topped qualifying in Northumberland and Durham respectively.
In the Northumberland Junior Teams Championship at Bedlingtonshire – the Longhirst team of Brandon Wright, Kaiden Wright and Erik Pettersson topped the leaderboard with 86 points in the best-two-from-three event.
In Durham’s PD Cowell event – Wearside’s Oscar O’Connor, Joshua Willey and Charlie Hancill retained the trophy at Brancepeth Castle with a one over-par team total, beating the Blackwell Grange team on countback.
The Longhirst and Wearside teams will go on to compete against county qualifiers from around the country over the Bracken Course at Woodhall Spa August 13-15.
