Whitley Bay Golf Club’s Rosie Belsham finished fifth in the Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championships in Spain as Yorkshire’s Barclay Brown took the boys’ title.
Rosie moved into contention at the PGA Catalunya course with a second round 75 to add to her opening 76, and at one stage was just a shot off the lead. A closing 80 dropped her down to fifth place on 231.
Meanwhile, Barclay emulated fellow Yorkshireman and club teammate Matt Fitzpatrick in winning the boys’ title.
