Richard Aisbitt returned to the winner’s circle with victory in the Leonard Crawley Medal at Brancepeth.
A closing 67 gave Richard a 36-hole total of 138 and a two-shot victory over Brancepeth clubmates Alastair Baird and John Heppell – taking his tally of wins in the event into double figures.
Andy Minnikin set the pace in the morning with an opening round of 68, with Baird and John Kennedy posting rounds of 70 and Richard in a group of players a further shot back.
Northumberland county champion Andy slipped back with second round 73 and had to settle for fifth place as Richard came through with his 67 to hold off John (71-69), Alastair (70-70) and Brancepeth’s Daniel Fox (71-70).
