Morpeth Golf Club’s new practice chipping and putting green, created following a £20,000 investment, has been officially opened by the club’s former captain and chairman Marcus Chisholm.
General manager Chris Liddell invited Marcus to officially open the facility in recognition of his commitment to both Morpeth and Northumberland golf. Marcus looked after Morpeth’s junior section for more than 20 years and has been a big part of the Northumbria Junior Golf League, Northumberland Junior Golf Association and Newcastle and District Golf League – which he is currently chairman and secretary of.
