Despite two years of unprecedented challenge, Penrith Golf Hub has celebrated extraordinary growth since launching in December 2019.
Lee Edwards, Andrew Pickering and John Ingham purchased Penrith Driving Range in December 2019 and have transformed the facility with investment in industry-leading technology.
“At the heart of our growth and development is pioneering technology,” says Lee. “For example, introducing Toptracer in all 14 driving range bays has been invaluable for customers in measuring ball flight, speed, distance and trajectory.”
The facility is also now home to two state-of-the-art bays for teaching and custom fitting with TrackMan 4 technology. The team also has access to a Boditrak pressure mat, which tracks a golfer’s interaction with the ground during their swing, as well as Sportbox – a markerless 3D motion swing analysis tool. There is also SAM Putt Lab technology in the putting studio, which is home to more than 140 putters.
The facility, which is set to be used by Cumbria’s men’s and ladies’ teams for the next three years, is also home to a club building workshop, retail space and nine-hole golf course.
“We are ambitious, but our work is paying off,” says Lee. “What we have achieved in two years is nothing short of extraordinary. We are anticipating tremendous growth over the next five years with continual investment in the latest technology and the addition of a new on-site café/bar.”
Led by Lee, Andrew and John – the team at Penrith Golf Hub also includes PGA professionals Michael Newton, James and Stewart Wilkinson, and Jonathan Graham as well as retail manager Emily Ingham.
