England Golf has named its teams for the European Team Championships – which all take place July 9-13 – including Jess Baker and Rosie Belsham in the women’s team, and Charlotte Naughton in the girls’ team.
England’s women’s team will compete at the North Course of Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo in Spain with Jess, Rosie, Lily Hirst, Nellie Ong, and sisters Mimi and Patience Rhodes in the team. The women have won the event 12 times – including victories in 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2022.
Charlotte, Sadie Adams, Isla McDonald-O’Brien, Matilde Santilli, Chloe Tarbard and Amelia Wan will feature for England Girls – who are heading to Sweden to play at Gothenburg’s Golf Club. In the 29 European Girls’ Team Championships to-date, England have won the title once (2005).
Meanwhile, Jack Bigham, Dominic Clemons, Will Hopkins, Matthew Dodd-Berry, Harley Smith and Tyler Weaver will represent England Men in the European Team Championship at Royal Park, Italy. In 40 competitions, England have won the event 10 times and finished runners-up on 10 occasions.
The England Boys’ team of Ben Bolton, Seb Desoisa, Daniel Hayes, Charlie Rusbridge, Kris Kim and Oscar Lent head to Diamond Golf & Country Club in Austria. The European Boys’ Team Championship started in 1980, where England finished runners-up to Spain. England Boys have won the competition eight times with their last victory coming in 2004.
