Matfen Hall’s junior team won the Northumbria Junior Golf League Finals day at Blyth Golf Club.
The juniors from Whitley Bay, who were the team to beat last year, got the better of Hexham 9-3 in the semi-finals while Matfen won 8-4 against Stocksfield.
In the final the Matfen team was in great form winning 9-3 while Hexham took the third place playoff 7-5.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old Francesca Chilton, who was in the Matfen side, recorded her first hole-in-one at the 138-yard par three ninth using an eight iron.
