Junior tour set for record year

The 2020 Northern Junior Golf Tour is set to be bigger than ever with more than 270 juniors already signed up for events across six regions.

Following the success of the tour’s 10th year, it has expanded into East Yorkshire and Lancashire this season – adding to events already taking place in North Yorkshire, Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland.

Tour founder Jason Budd said: “The response since we opened this year’s registrations has been phenomenal. We sold out the Durham and Northumberland events within three weeks and have already got a high level of interest in our events in the other four regions.

“The concept of the Tour came around due to a lack of fun and competitive opportunities for young golfers under 14 in the local area. There was a huge gap in the market and an abundance of junior golfers wanting to play more and more events.

“We’re fortunate to have some amazing sponsors on board who really believe in the brand and understand our vision. The addition of PING is really the icing on the cake and we’re incredibly proud and humbled to be working with them.”

Events in Northumberland and Durham are already sold out for 2020, with the leading players from each region set to head to the Grand Final at Ramside Hall in September.
