A new planning application has been made for a £13m golf facility at Centurion Park, Wallsend, which will include the reconfiguration of the existing golf course and the development of an innovative golf centre, which would be the first of its kind in the UK.
The Centurion Golf Centre will combine the facilities of a traditional driving range over two stories with state-of-the-art virtual reality technology from Foresight UK, which transposes players’ shots onto digital screens which can show virtual reality games or digital courses.
Meanwhile, the golf course at Centurion Park will be reconfigured to create the option to play six, 12 or 18 holes while investment will be made to further improve the course.
