Good posture, great coil

Consistently getting into the correct posture will help many aspects of your golf swing, and most importantly will allow you to create an efficient turn and coil for more power and improved speed control.

Here’s a great drill to incorporate on and off the golf course to ensure your posture is perfect.

The Drill

Stand up straight and take your grip while keeping your arms in front of you and pushed together.

Flex your knees slightly (don’t bend them) keeping your spine perpendicular to the ground.

Bend forwards from your hips (not your shoulders) until the clubhead engages with the ground – you’ll need more bend as the length of the club you’re using decreases.

Find the perfect spine angle by making sure your left eye is inline with the middle of your stance. This will allow you to make a good rotation without having to turn your head in the backswing.
