All change at Yarm Driving Range

A raft of changes have been made at Yarm Driving Range – including the launch of the North East’s second TrackMan Range and the expansion of the coaching team.

Having been refurbished by the team of Jack Pickering, 27, Charlie Irvine, 25, and Kieron Watson, 27, since they took over in January, the business is looking to build on its reputation further.

“Things have been going really well since January, and with the TrackMan Range now in place, we’re excited to grow our offering and business even further,” said Jack, whose grandparents created the driving range.

“In the last four months, we’re three times busier than we were in 2022 and we expect that to grow rapidly following the launch of the TrackMan Range.

“As with any business, there have been challenges along the way and we certainly got our hands dirty earlier this year when we did a lot of the work ourselves – from drainage to painting, and installing new targets, lighting, mats and dividers.

“The feedback so far has been positive, we’ve listened to what our customers want us to do next, and we’re really positive about where things are going.”

The team of professionals offering coaching at the 16-bay driving range has also grown – including the addition of two-time DP World Tour winner Graeme Storm, who will be teaching at Yarm Driving Range from December.

Meanwhile, PGA pro Craig Donaldson will be looking after junior academy sessions, with Alan Hope drawing on more than 40 years’ experience to offer a full suite of coaching options too. Blackwell Grange-based PGA professional Aaron Cox will also be hosting ladies coaching sessions at the range every week from January.

“Developing the business is proving to be a lot of fun and being able to bring in some of the region’s best professionals, not least Graeme Storm, is awesome,” added Jack. “We’ve got lots more to come in the future too, so watch this space.”

As well as the practice and coaching offering, the range is also home to Greedy Ted’s Pizza bar and restaurant following the venue’s success on Yarm’s high street – so you can enjoy a burger or woodfired pizza inside or out on the range while competing with your friends or practising.
