Cameron Wallace bounced back from missing the cut in the Brabazon Trophy to clinch victory in the Seaton Salver.
In occasionally tricky conditions with a couple of heavy downpours and strong winds, 17-year-old Wallace, an Academy member at Seaton but currently playing out of Castle Eden, posted rounds of 69 and 67.
His eight under-par total of 136 was four shots clear of City of Newcastle’s Mark Wharton who had two steady rounds of 70 with Dean Wright (Leeds Golf Centre) in third place with rounds of 74 and 68.
Wallace’s 67 included an eagle three at the sixth and three birdies at the second, 11th and 18th.
Wallace recently made up for his narrow miss in last year’s AoC Sport National Championship with a two-shot win in this year’s tournament at Morley Hayes in Derbyshire with rounds of 71 and 72.
Both he and Hartlepool colleague Jack Ainscough missed the cut in the Brabazon Trophy at Woodhall Spa after coming through Northern qualifying.
