Castle Eden-based Stu Brown lifted the Durham Seniors Strokeplay Championship trophy for a second time following victory at his home club.
Stu, who won the event in 2020, led the field with rounds of 68 and 74 for a two over-par total.
John Kirkpatrick (Ramside Hall) finished three shots back in second place – claiming the runner-up spot for the fourth consecutive year – while Keith Flinn (Chester-le-Street) finished third and Ian Hendry (Seaton Carew) was fourth with all three players separated by countback.
“I’m very proud to have my hands back on the trophy,” said Stu.
“There was a little pressure playing at my home club, but I put together a really steady first round in good conditions. The wind picked up on day two and it was a real war of attrition. I made nine pars to start, then had a blip on 10 – topping it off the tee – and made a bogey. From there I just ground it out.
“Making a birdie on 16 was really important, as was getting up and down having found the water on 17. With a three-shot lead on the last, I was still nervous as I’ve seen a lot of people lose on our 18th, but I committed to hitting driver and made my par four to win.
“It’s a great feeling to win at home, especially with my parents coming along to see me do it. Adding this to [my son] Chris’ win in the county matchplay this season makes it even better.”
Stu will go on to compete in the Senior Men’s County Champion of Champions at Woodhall Spa on September 12-13.
