The Halifax, Huddersfield and District Union of Golf Clubs’ six-man team lifted the Yorkshire Inter-District Union Team Championship trophy at Crosland Heath Golf Club.
The team of Dylan Shaw-Radford (69-66), George Hanson (74-68), Habib Khan (69-68), James Skirrow (66-76), Joel Rushworth (72-77) and Josh McAspurn (67-80) led the field in the 50th Men’s Team Championship with a 12 under-par total of 698 (five scores from six counting in each of the two rounds). The Teesside team finished 34 shots back in second place as the York union finished third.
The individual standings were dominated by Halifax-Huddersfield, with the union securing the top four spots as Dylan won The Leeds & District Union Trophy for the leading individual player with his seven under-par total.
The Team Championship success added to union’s YIDU league win, which was secured after the final round of matches just seven days earlier.
