Yorkshire won the 2024 Boys’ County Finals after beating Gloucestershire, Kent and Cambridgeshire at Teignmouth Golf Club.
After beating Gloucestershire (5.5-3.5) and Kent (6-3) on the first two days, they saw off Cambridgeshire 6.5-2.5 to secure the trophy.
Tai Naylor was Yorkshire’s star performer and one of only two unbeaten players at the event, as he picked up 5.5 from 6 points available. Meanwhile, Teesside’s Thomas Hartshorne and Alex Boyes both won five out of six points.
Yorkshire coach Steve Robinson said: “Previous finals we’ve lost closely. We tend to do the same things and go through the same processes so there’s been lots of work in the preparations which went very well, and we’ve come out winners the other side. The county invests an awful lot of money into junior players and hopefully they’ll continue do that and develop world-class players – we’ve got three going on international duty with England next week and that’s a testament to the county programme.”
