Women’s Golf Day celebrations set to begin on May 28

Women’s Golf Day 2024 is set to get underway with the annual WGD Palooza on May 28, a day of digital engagement that kicks off the week-long celebrations.

Women and girls around the world are being encouraged to share their love of the game, play registered WGD locations, and join in the #BringAFriend campaign.

“Women can be really nervous about trying something new,” said Women’s Golf Day founder Elisa Gaudet. “This is where the idea of #BringAFriend has really helped our locations get new golfers to participate. We encourage existing golfers to bring a woman that would like to learn to play golf, thus the number of participants at an event immediately doubles. And, because the WGD format incorporates beginners as well as current golfers and has a social element, everyone gets the chance to play with people of similar ability and meet the wider golf community.”

Content supporting the event will be shared throughout the week on all @womensgolfday social channels.

WGD events will take place around the world May 28-June 4. There are a wide variety of venues taking part – with annual participants, who see their numbers rising year on year, being joined by new locations inspired to celebrate girls and women playing golf. Uniting the private member clubs, simulator venues, retail locations, major venues and short courses is the tried and tested four-hour format of golf followed by a social event.
