Teams from across Yorkshire have progressed to the next round of this year’s Seniors Club Team Championship following the Fourth Division Championship at Pike Hills.
Sitwell Park’s Steve Haggerty (73), Glenn Coburn (78) and Ian Smith (81) led the way with a 19 over-par total as York’s Phil Little, Philip Sinton and Steve Thompson finished second on 26 over-par. Meanwhile, Pike Hill’s Steve Simpson shot two over-par to lead the individual scoring on countback.
The leading nine teams – Sitwell Park, York, Pike Hills, Middlesbrough, Shipley, Easingwold, Wortley, Meltham and Romanby – will progress to the Third Division Championship at Hull Golf Club on September 2, where they will join the 18 teams already qualified for the event from last season.
