Eaglescliffe Golf Club’s win in the Durham County qualifier for the England Golf Club Mixed Team Championship was a family affair.
Three members of the team were from the Still family – John, Lesley and son Ian. They were joined by Su Gill to score 85 points at Brancepeth Castle and win by two points from Whickham and Bishop Auckland in the tournament, which was sponsored by Cottages.com.
Both John and Lesley have represented Durham during their golfing careers, while John is a former Durham County Matchplay champion, Durham County Seniors champion and captain of the county side
“We are certainly looking forward to representing our club and county in the National Finals,” said Lesley.
