The Oaks’ team of Sam Norman, Steven Lynch and Jake Sowden topped the leaderboard in the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs’ Second Division Team Championship at Garforth.
Sam (70-69), Steven (73-72) and Jake (75-73) put together a 12 over-par team total of 432 for an eight-shot victory over Easingwold’s team.
The leading seven teams – The Oaks, Easingwold (who have progressed through from the fifth round), Halifax Bradley Hall, Wetherby, Oakdale, Pannal and Hickleton – will progress to the Yorkshire Team Championship at Lindrick on July 23 – where they will compete alongside the 14 teams already qualified for the event from last season for the right to represent the county in the English Men’s Champion Club event at The Oaks on September 20-21.
