Teesside Golf Club’s men’s team were crowned Dixon Cup champions at Castle Eden after the winners of the five North East men’s leagues faced off, with the best six scores from seven players counting.
The Teesside Union of Golf Clubs league winners took home the trophy with an emphatic winning margin of 17 shots.
They were led by Tom Hartshorne, who won the Presidents Cup as the leading individual player, with a round of 68. Darren Rayner shot 70, the second-best individual score on the day, while Stephen Fox and Rob Hillier shot 72, Richie Mason shot 73, Rhys Nelson shot 75, and Michael Wicks shot 77.
North Northumberland league champions Goswick finished second in the team event, while North Durham league winners Consett & District were third.
