Prudhoe duo win the Hadrian League Challenge Cup

Prudhoe Golf Club’s Ben Lloyd and Kevin Innes teamed up to win the Hadrian League Challenge Cup at Bedlingtonshire.

The event sees teams of two – one gross player and one nett player – compete for a combined score. Ben finished second in the gross event with a level-par 73 while Kevin shot a nett 71 to finish second in the nett event. That gave the team 24 points, and a two-point win over Hexham’s Junior Dobson and Richard Laidler.

In the individual standings, Richard led the nett event with a round of 68, while Matfen Hall’s Jeff Pitt led the gross event with a one under-par 72.

Meanwhile, Stocksfield’s Les Palmer won the league’s Past Captains’ Trophy at Newcastle United. Les led the field with 40 points as clubmate Tom O’Malley (39) finished second, and Slaley Hall’s Richard Bridges (38) finished third.
