City of Newcastle’s Phil Ridden topped the leaderboard in the Northumberland Union of Golf Clubs’ Fenwick-Smith Trophy at Blyth.
Phil led the field in the final NUGC individual event of the season with a two under-par round of 68. Russell Hayhoe finished one shot back in second place, as Dan Halliday claimed third place on countback from county captain Andrew Minnikin after both players shot rounds of 70.
With the win, and his win in the Strokeplay Championship earlier this season, Phil secured top spot in the NUGC order of merit as county champion Ben Brown finished second, Andrew Minnikin was third, Harrison Sewell was fourth, and Andrew Griffiths was fifth.
