The October/November 2023 edition of Northern Golfer is available in golf clubs and retailers across the region now
The results have been coming in thick and fast in recent weeks as the season speeds towards its conclusion. While there has been a lot to cover – both in the pages of the magazine and in our Northern Golfer Weekly emails, which are essential reading every Friday morning for golf fans in our area – the quality of golf has also been incredibly high.
As well as all the success stories you’ll read throughout Teeing Off, we have three new Champions of Champions to celebrate with. Once again, this year’s event at Longhirst Hall brought together male, female and junior club champions from right across our coverage area – with clubs from Northumberland, Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and Cumbria represented at a great end of season celebration. Congratulations to Abby, Harrison and Freddie on their wins – I look forward to welcoming you all back to Longhirst in 2024 to defend your titles.
We also catch up with Rhys Thompson after he won the Tartan Pro Tour’s order of merit and a Challenge Tour card for 2024; speak to Graeme Storm following his 500th and final DP World Tour event; record more success for Ponteland’s Charlotte Naughton; and bring you lots more from around the region throughout Teeing Off.
We also have the latest from our columnists – including Chris Paisley, Simon Olver, Sean Russell and Shawn O’Neil.
We’ve also enjoyed A Round With Andy Paisley; visited Chester-le-Street Golf Club for our latest Course Profile; and put together two Special Focuses – on stay and play destinations and places to practice in the coming months. Plus there are three new competitions to enter – for rounds at Ramside Hall, Whitley Bay and Chester-le-Street.
Enjoy this edition, it’s absolutely packed once again; stay up to date with Northern Golfer Weekly; and look out for our final edition of 2023 – which will be out in early December. Until then, wrap up warm and make the most of every opportunity you get to be out on the course, whatever the weather.
