Thirteen-year-old Nixie Corcoran has become the youngest-ever winner of the Blackwell Grange Golf Club Ladies’ Club Championship.
Nixie led by two shots going into the second round of the championship, and went head-to-head with former champion Anne Wraith on the final day. With the two players tied after 36 holes, a sudden-death playoff was needed to decide the winner and on the first hole, Nixie’s par sealed victory.
In her victory speech, Nixie thanked the club, her family and her coach for their support, saying: “It means so much to win here. Thank you to Anne for a great round of golf. To be the ladies’ champion is amazing.”
