Moor is last stop

The final regular season event of the EuroPro season heads to Moor Allerton

The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s final event before the season-ending Matchroom Sport Tour Championship takes place at Moor Allerton Golf Club September 21-23.

The Clipper Logistics Championship returns for a fourth year, with previous champions Billy Hemstock and Mark Laskey among those in the field and within striking distance of a place in the top five of the tour’s Race To Desert Springs order of merit.

The top five at the end of the Tour Championships, to be played in Spain in October, progress to the Challenge Tour in 2017. After narrowly missing out in previous years, Hemstock and Laskey are within touching distance of promotion but know they need a strong finish to the season to maintain a top five position.

James Maw and James Wilkinson are among the golfers from our region closing in on the top five with a win apiece so far this season, while Alex Wrigley knows if he can claim a first EuroPro title he’ll be right in the mix after a run of strong finishes this summer.

A field of 132 will tee it up at Moor Allerton at the end of September and the event is crucial for every single one of them – only the top 60 after the Clipper Logistics Championship will be invited to the Tour Championship at Desert Springs.

For those outside the top 60 on the tour standings, the Moor Allerton tournament represents a final chance to sneak in, while for those at the top of the money list the stage of the season has been reached where any let-up can be severely punished with the Race To Desert Springs looking tighter than ever. Spectator entry to the event is free of charge throughout the week.
