Angus Buchanan came out on top in a sudden-death playoff to win the Northumberland Union of Golf Clubs’ Fenwick-Smith Trophy at Slaley Hall.
Slaley-based Angus finished tied at the top of the leaderboard with Andrew Minnikin (City of Newcastle) after both players shot one under-par scores of 71 over 18 holes. In the playoff, Angus’ par at the opening hole saw him lift his first individual county trophy and follow in the footsteps of his brother, Alex, who won the event in 2022.
