Matfen Hall captain and vice-captain Scott Gallagher and Gary Sanderson picked up a win to start the 2025 Hadrian League season – topping the leaderboard in the Colin Mussett Anniversary Cup.
The event, named in honour of Hadrian League stalwart Colin ahead of its 2025 edition, brings together the league’s captains and vice-captains at the start of each season for a 4BBB competition. Scott and Gary led the field at Stocksfield with 41 points as Longhirst’s David Gilroy and Steven Smiles finished second, and Tyneside’s Sean Hamilton and David Cockland finished third.
The opening matches in this year’s Hadrian League take place on April 29 and 30.
