Members of Matfen Hall have welcomed the new season, and their new captains, in style.
Incoming captains Tom Longhurst and Lynda Conway hit the first shots of the season in front of a full field of members before a Texas Scramble – won by Graeme Wigham, Ian Telford, Darren Smith and Tony Liddle with an impressive 30.75 in the nine-hole event.
On Sunday April 9 members returned to celebrate Masters Night with a challenging courses setup to mimic Augusta National – the team of Ernie Hunter, Guy Hunter, Fraser Steel and Peter Smith winning with a superb score of 29.4 – before three-time European Tour winner and 2007 Masters player Kenneth Ferrie shared stories from his trip to Augusta and his life on tour.
