John Harrison shot a brilliant seven under-par round of 65 in the North East & North West PGA pro am at Matfen Hall – taking home the £3,500 winner’s cheque.
John, who is based at The Northumberland, shot his age to lead the field by two shots as Josh fox finished second on five under-par, and four players – David Clark, Jonathan Graham, Ross Crowe and Andrew Scrimshaw – finished in a tie for third place.
John’s win extends his record of winning in every year since he turned professional to 49 years.
In the team event, Team Intelligent Gas and Power – with professional Alex Dixon and amateurs Kris Wylam, Stephen Tyres and Ronnie Foreman – topped the leaderboard by 10 shots with a 25 under-par score of 97 stableford points.
