Jack Whaley shoots 61 en route to NAIA national title

Jack Whaley won his fifth individual college title of the season as he led the field in the 73rd annual NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship.

Rotherham-based Jack, representing the Dalton State Roadrunners, shot a single-round NAIA record 61 on the opening day at TPC Deere Run. He then followed up with back-to-back one over-par rounds of 72 to shoot a three-round total of eight under-par and complete a three-shot win over Faulkner’s Rodolphe Cicala.

Meanwhile, the Roadrunners finished in fifth place in the team event as Lindsey Wilson won the team title.
