Hornsea-based Jack Maxey shot an eight under-par round of 64 to pick up the first win of his college career in the US at the A-State Spring Invitational.
Jack also led the Arkansas State Red Wolves men’s team to victory – shooting rounds of 68, 72 and 64 for a 12 under-par total of 204 – at RidgePointe Country Club.
Jack’s score is the tied-third best in the team’s history, while the team’s 54-hole total of 828 (-36) set a new programme best in a spring event. Following his maiden win, Jack was also named Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week.
