Hornsea-based Jack Maxey quickly doubled his number of individual college titles in the US with victory in the induvial strokeplay portion of the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Championship at Annandale Golf Club.
Arkansas State senior Jack beat Louisiana’s Eli Ortega on the third hole of a playoff after both players shot a six under-par totals of 210. The win is Jack’s second in the US following his success in the A-State Spring Invitational earlier this season.
Jack became Arkansas State’s first individual conference champion since 1997, and only the second individual champion in the team’s history.
Having advanced to the matchplay semi-finals of the team event as the second seeds, the Red Wolves beat Georgia Southern 3-2 before losing out to Coastal Carolina 3-2 in the final.
