Adam goes pro and sets his sights on the European Tour
Following years of hard work and determination, Carus Green Golf Club member and England player Adam Chapman has turned professional.
The 21-year-old, who described the achievement as a “culmination of work and commitment,” will compete in the Algarve Tour in Portugal from December-February in his first events as a professional, followed by the Gecko Tour in Spain in March.
Adam, who is coached by Carus Green PGA professional Andrew Pickering, has enjoyed a good season in 2016 and will be looking to gain entry to play some European Tour events in 2017.
“Adam has been working extremely hard on his game and is 100% ready to compete at this level, both physically and mentally,” said Pickering. “It is absolutely the right time for him to be turning pro.
“With massive changes ahead of him, Adam faces a challenging time, but we are all delighted for him and support him unreservedly.”
Adam said: “I am very excited to be entering a new chapter of my life and would like to thank the whole team at Carus Green for their support and encouragement. This is the culmination of many years’ hard work.
“I’m looking forward to the independence that turning professional will bring; earning my own money, travelling and working towards playing on the European Tour.”
