Seventeen-year-old Hannah Kennedy won the Ladies’ Championship trophy for the first time at Stocksfield Golf Club – beating her grandma en route to the title.
Hannah, who posted the lowest gross score in the qualifying strokeplay rounds, beat her grandma, Sonia, to earn a place in the final – where she overcame defending champion Liz Hartley.
Stocksfield ladies captain Amanda Southern said: “There is a new name on our Ladies’ Championship trophy for the first time in many years and it’s great to see Hannah win at such an early age. I’m sure this will not be the last time her name will appear on the trophy. My commiserations to Liz, who has dominated our championship in recent years. The final produced some fabulous golf from both ladies, and it made great viewing for everyone who turned out to support the finalists.”
