The North’s best amateur golfers will once again compete for the Northern Golf Masters title at Rockliffe Hall on Sunday September 17.
This year will mark the sixth consecutive year that the 36-hole scratch competition – now part of the County Durham Scratch Order of Merit – has taken place at the top golf resort at Hurworth, near Darlington.
Rockliffe Hall’s golf and estate director Davy Cuthbertson said: “Now that the Northern Golf Masters is part of the order of merit we’re expecting the event to be very popular.
“The NGM is always a great event and golfers get a real flavour of what it’s like to play in a top competition on a world-class course, played by the likes of ex-Ryder Cup captains Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Mark James.”
Last year’s event was won by Sam Donald from Eaglescliffe, who posted a one under-par total of 143 to finish six shots ahead of Richmond’s Michael Henson.
The closing date for entries is Sunday September 3, 2017.
