Garmin has unveiled its latest laser rangefinder – the Approach Z10.
The Approach Z10 (RRP £259.99) provides precise measurements up to 350 yards with six times magnification and weighs less than 180g. Technology in the device includes Garmin’s Range Relay feature, which sends ranged distances to a compatible smartwatch, handheld device, or the Garmin Golf smartphone app. Once the target has been locked in, players can see a range arc on their paired devices as well as distances to the front and back of the green to understand where the pin is positioned.
“For players that use a Garmin smartwatch or golf handheld on the course, the Approach Z10 can supercharge their devices, making them extremely precise with measurements to the pin, the front and back of the green and everything else in play,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin’s vice-president of consumer sales and marketing.
Other features include vibration feedback to indicate a target has been locked on, PlaysLike distances adjusted for elevation changes available directly through the viewfinder, a tournament mode indicator light which lets competitors know that the device is only providing data within the rules, a magnetic cart mount, Find My Rangefinder delivered through the Garmin Golf app, and extended battery life.
Meanwhile, players can access a host of additional features through a Garmin Golf membership (£8.99/month or £89.99/year) including green contour data and aerial imagery of the more than 43,000 courses around the world.
