Finding balance

After 10 weeks on the road, it was great to be back home for a month, play some English events and recharge before the European season really gets going, writes Rosie Belsham

I have spent long in the UK in the last couple months than I have in a long time, and it has been really lovely!
After a successful end to my South Africa trip, I headed to Morocco for the first Ladies European Tour Access Series event of the season. We were unlucky to get some awful weather, with brutally cold and windy conditions.

While the weather was definitely not what I was hoping for, I played solid and came away with a T13 finish. I was happy to see the golf I had been playing in South Africa translate into some good scores, and it was great to start the season-long quest for a top seven finish in the order of merit strongly.

I was absolutely exhausted after nine weeks in South Africa and one in Morocco, and I was glad to have some time off.

I had a whole month before the next LETAS event in Austria, and while I initially thought I would get a job and chillout for a while, I was loving playing golf and decided to enter the Rose Ladies Series events.

I’m so glad I committed to these as they’re played on some really great courses here in England, and a few top 10s added to the good form I’d found in South Africa and Morocco.

As I’ve mentioned before, it’s nice to miss travelling and competing as it makes me enjoy it more when I get back, so I made the most of being home too and did lots of things outside of golf with family and friends.

As I write, I’m excited to get going again on the LETAS in Austria. After that, I’ll be back home for a sneak peek at the changes to the golf course at Matfen Hall before the Douglas Course opens in late-June. I’ll be back on a plane pretty soon though as I have three consecutive weeks in Europe with events in France, Czechia and Germany to look forward to.

While I had some time away from tour, I built a platform where I can post links to my schedule and scores, and share some more of my journey in a little more detail on a more frequent basis. Fayder is a great platform where you can support athletes on their journeys, and you can find me at www.fayder.app/athlete/rosie-belsham

Enjoy the summer!
