Two pairs remain in the race for the Northern Golfer Match Play Pairs title.
Seventy four teams started out this year’s event and following semi-finals in October, James Guy and James Melville from Crook Golf Club will take on Mark Laverick and Jon Douglas from Stocksfield Golf Club in the final at Wynyard Golf Club in November.
In an all-Crook semi-final, James and James overcame Vaughan Raine and Shaun Elliott with a 2up victory at Brancepeth Castle Golf Club.
Meanwhile, Mark and Jon beat the Consett-based team of Barry Cranston and David Hornsey to secure their place in the final.
This year’s winners will receive a prize worth £600 along with a place in the region’s golfing history books as the 18th winners of the pairs competition.
