Morpeth’s David Clark won the North East & North West PGA Championship for the fourth time at Matfen Hall – as Michael Skelton won the Assistants’ title.
David topped the leaderboard in the Titleist Order of Merit event after shooting rounds of 65 and 67 for a 12 under-par total of 132 and a six-shot win – retaining the trophy he won 12 months ago. Three players – Michael, Jack McCall and Craig Smith – finished in a tie for second place on six under-par.
In the Assistants’ event, staged concurrently, Michael beat Jack with a par on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to lift the trophy.
With his win, David moved to the top of the season-long Titleist Order of Merit, with Tim Dykes in second place and Graeme Bell in third place.
