Team success continued for Consett & District Golf Club in the Durham County Golf Union’s Team Championship.
Competing at their home course, Inter-County Foursomes champions John Kennedy (64) and Mark Bonser (69) teamed up with Mark’s son, Luke (70), to top the leaderboard with a three-player score of 10 under-par over 18 holes as the event was shortened due to torrential rain. Blackwell Grange’s team of Adam Rochester, Jonathon Vinton and Lewis Beardwell finished second on two under-par.
Consett & District will go on to represent Durham in the English Men’s Champion Club event at The Oaks on September 20-21.
