The North East & North West PGA has announced a packed schedule of professional tournaments and pro ams across the region and further afield in 2026.
PGA professionals will have opportunities to play in five Pro Series events and five professional tournaments as part of the Titleist Order of Merit in 2026.
The association’s Championship is set for Teesside on June 15, with the Northumberland and Durham Open set to take place at Matfen Hall on July 7. There are then three events in September – the Heineken Dunstanburgh Classic, the Tour Championship at Brancepeth Castle, and the season-ending Matchplay Championship at Slaley Hall.
The core of the season is the pro am schedule – which is bookended by events in Turkey and Aberdeen to start the season, and trips to Blairgowrie and Portugal to end the golfing year. The calendar also features 24 pro ams at clubs across the North East and the North West.
Steve Harrison, secretary of the NE/NW PGA, said: “We’re looking forward to another fantastic year of PGA events. We have a very stable number of pro ams supported by clubs year after year, which is great to see. We then add in some new ones – such as the Northumberland Coastal Links pro am hosted by Warkworth and Alnmouth Village, and the Golfing Holidays Ponteland pro am – to create a very busy schedule.
“These are complemented by our four out of area pro ams, which have become incredibly popular. This year we have 40 teams heading to Turkey in March and 45 teams teeing it up in Aberdeen in April – as well as another trip to Scotland and one to Portugal to close out the season.
“Add in the Pro Series and our professional tournaments, and it’s a strong schedule which I know our members are really happy to have the opportunity to be part of.
“These events are all possible because of the partnerships we have with our host clubs and our sponsors. There are so many long-standing partnerships, and having the support of all these businesses makes a strong schedule possible. We’re incredibly thankful to each and every one of our partners for their continued support. We also have a strong track record of charitable fundraising, and it’s fantastic that will continue in 2026 for a number of causes across the region.”
