Brancepeth Castle Golf Club’s men’s team added the North Durham Union of Golf Clubs’ Knockout Trophy to their win in this year’s league – beating Heworth in the event’s final at Tyneside Golf Club.
In a hard-fought final, Brancepeth managed to complete the double following a sudden-death playoff between Rob Atkinson and Matthew Wake after the match finished tied 2.5-2.5 following the five handicap matchplay games.
