Brancepeth Castle’s men’s team won the North Durham Union of Golf Clubs league after topping division one.
The Brancepeth team led the way in the top division with 123 points in their 14 matches – beating Durham City by just three points as Seaham’s team finished third.
In division two, Hobson’s team led the way as Ramside Hall finished second. In division three, South Moor topped the standings with City of Newcastle in second place.
The Brancepeth Castle team will go on to represent the North Durham Union of Golf Clubs in the Dixon Cup at Whitburn on Sunday September 21. The event brings together the winning teams from the five North East men’s leagues, with the best six scores from seven players counting towards each team’s total.
